Pondercast and Ground Level are labours of love from host Laurie Brown and sonic composer Joshua Van Tassel.

Laurie Brown

Laurie Brown has built a reputation as an accomplished interviewer, writer and seasoned broadcaster. Her career started at CityTV on The New Music, then at MUCHMUSIC, then to CBC’s The Journal, The National and Newsworld’s On the Arts. Laurie then moved to radio, hosting The Signal, a much-loved late night music show on CBC Radio 2 for a decade.

Joshua van Tassel

Joshua Van Tassel is a sideman, producer, composer and sonic landscaper. He regularly performs with some of Canada's best song writers such as Great Lake Swimmers, Amelia Curran, Sarah Slean, Donovan Woods, Rose Cousins, David Myles, among others.  With his solo career, Van Tassel has built a reputation as a producer and composer of electro-acoustic music that is both highly sophisticated and easily digestible.
